The Department of Philosophy is offering a new minor starting in the Fall 2022 semester. The interdisciplinary ethics and values in society minor includes foundational coursework in philosophy, topical course choices from more than a dozen disciplines, and a student capstone experience.
“This minor is especially well suited for students who are interested in activism, advocacy work, government work, careers in public health, and environmental law,” says associate professor and chair of philosophy David Levy. “Students in this program will be able to build skills and dig into a specific topic to make a positive difference in the world.”
The ethics and values in society minor requires six courses plus a capstone (an additional course, a credit-bearing internship, or a project). Topical courses are offered by 14 majors or programs, including anthropology, Black studies, environmental studies, history, management, political science, and women’s and gender studies, to name a few.
