On Monday, April 29, 2024, the Department of Political Science and International Relations hosted their 45th Annual Senior Honor's Dinner in the MacVittie Union Ballroom at Geneseo.
Current faculty and staff in the department were joined by special guests of honor at the event, including department alumni - Craig Arrighetti ’87, David Case ’99, Reilly J. O'Brien ’21, Martha Valenti ’07, and Kate Wastl ’07 - interim Dean of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Amy Sheldon, and Dr. Bob Goeckel, Distinguished Professor Emeritus.
After opening remarks from professor and chair, Dr. Karleen West, current member Nicole Kemmett (‘24) led the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Honor Society induction ceremony. 2023-2024 inductees include Julie Bartoszek, Madilyn Falgiano, Claire Hackbush, Brian Kenney, Jesse Larkin, Lauren McCormick, Alexandra Messerklinger, Zoe Navratil, Corina Tulevech, and Hiroki Yoshida. Other current members include Eugene Bullock, Kieran Kelley, Henry Kemblowski, Eleanor Parkhurst, Alexis Savoie, and Laura Wright.
Dr. Andrew Hart inducted several students into the Sigma Iota Rho Honor Society for International Relations. 2023-2024 inductees include Brian Kenney, Corina Tulevech, Elinore Voss, and Hiroki Yoshida. Eleanor Parkhust is a current Sigma Iota Rho member.
Dr. Karleen West also recognized the student authors in the department's undergraduate journal, The Political Realm (Spring 2024), which included Molly Brown, Gene Bullock, Jaina Dinino, Cooper Fensterstock, Kayla Forthman, Jordyn "Jo" Grady, Nicole Kemmett, Zoe Navratil, Sarah Ramsundar, and Hiroki Yoshida.

Graduating seniors got to share their future plans with attendees, which range from Masters, law school, and PhD programs. The department commends all of the students who are pursuing higher education and entering the workforce!
