About the Profession
Nurses are an integral part of the healthcare profession. While nurse duties can vary depending on the healthcare setting and specialty, nurses' primary role is to advocate and care for patients by observing and monitoring patients, administering medication, and facilitating communication between the patient and physician.
Course Requirements
SUNY Geneseo does not have a nursing program. Students currently enrolled at Geneseo who plan to earn a bachelor's degree and ultimately pursue a career in nursing have several options. Geneseo graduates typically pursue an accelerated program offering a bachelor's in nursing (BSN). Programs vary in course requirements, so be sure to review the requirements of all the schools you plan on applying to. Below are the courses at SUNY Geneseo that are recommended you complete based on most accelerated BSN programs:
