Minor in Musical Theatre

Don't have time for another major?  The musical theatre minor is intended to develop skills and provide backgrounds in music, dance, and theatre; required each semester is participation in musical theatre productions in the areas of performance, costumes, lighting, sound, scenic, props, dramaturgy, stage management, and more.

MUSC 182: Musicianship for Musical Theatre I (3 credits)

MUSC 222: Stage Musicals (3 credits)

MUSC 280: Musical Theatre Performance I (3 credits)

THEA 221: Acting I (3 credits)

THEA 224: Acting Techniques (2 credits)

THEA 320: Acting II (3 credits)

Voice requirement, chosen from the following (4 credits)

  • MUSC 141, 241, 341 Voice; OR
  • MUSC 151, 251, 351 Voice for the Performance Option

Dance requirement: chosen from the following, with at least 2 credits each (4 credits)

  • At the 200 or 300 level: MUSC 201; DANC 101-104; 201-204; 301-303
