Are you interested in gaining more human services work? Developmental work? Working with/for kids either directly or indirectly? Programming? Event Planning? Volunteering? Then the Bus Stop Club is the place for you!
The goal of the Bus Stop Club is to create a space for local siblings of individuals with disabilities and/or mental health concerns to build community and connections outside of their family of origin. Members of the club will either be working with siblings to facilitate recreational time or plan events (so if you're not interested in working with kids, you do not have to!). This is an opportunity for anyone interested in gaining some fieldwork and volunteer hours to work in a collaborative and practical environment.
We will be holding our first Interest Meeting this upcoming Monday (9/16) at 5 PM in Bailey 105, we will be figuring out our weekly meeting time at this point so if you are unable to make it on Monday but are still interested in joining, please email Alex Gaboury. We will run club meetings on a weekly basis, with a separate meeting time for working with interested siblings. So you can still be engaged in meaningful outreach, programming, and support work for kids, or you can also be involved with actively working with kids!
We will be holding more events throughout the year as well, so if you want to hear more of our happenings, please follow our instagram at @busstopclubgeneseo. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out, either through instagram or email.

The organization's motto is: No Data. No Change.
Amy has grown this organization from basically herself and an assistant sitting at a kitchen table into a formidable not-for-profit employing several dozen researchers, analysts, and lawyers.
It’s a great social-justice entrepreneurship success story and a terrific example of the application of data analytics to what many might consider an unlikely subject.
