Jim Kernan
Department of Geography
Dr. Kernan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography. His specialty is biogeography, focusing on human impacts on forest ecosystems. Jim has taught and co-taught field courses in the 1000 Islands, Adirondacks, Catskills, and Finger Lakes in New York as well as study away/abroad courses in Appalachia, Canada, and Puerto Rico. His research includes the study of wildfires in the Pacific Northwest, invasive species in New York, and STEM education. Jim lives in the village of Geneseo with his wife and 12 and 18 year ol daughters.
Dave Robertson
Department of Geography
Dr. Robertson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography. His specialty is cultural and historical geography with interests related to place, identity, and landscape history. Dave has developed study abroad/away courses in Canada and Puerto Rico and taught field courses throughout New York. His research includes the study of declining and abandoned mining communities and the forested landscapes of western New York. Dave lives in the village of Geneseo with his wife, 16 year old son, and 17 year old daughter.
Meg Reitz
Department of Residence Life
Dr. Reitz is the Assistant Director of Residence Life for Educational Initiatives. In this role, she assesses and develops opportunities for students to engage with faculty outside of the classroom. Meg supports opportunities for students to engage in experiential learning and her background is in Geology. She specialized in Tectonics, Structural Geology, and field mapping and ran field trips in the Catskill region and Newark Basin. She lives in Geneseo with her husband and 1 year old son.
