Simran Singh: Organizer
Simran Singh is a senior Biology major on the pre-medical track. Having been a Curator the last two years, Simran is returning to the TEDx team this year as the organizer. As a Multicultural Fellow, she understands the value of a global outlook, which is why she thinks of TEDx as a key resource in the spreading of ideas and broadening of perspective.Beyond TEDx, She is not only an active member of SUNY Geneseo’s Healthguards, which is a group of student health educators associated with the wellness center on campus, but also an undergraduate researcher.
Victoria Cooke: Head Curator
Victoria Cooke is a junior History major and Women’s and Gender Studies minor pursuing teaching certification in Adolescence Education. This is her third year on the TEDx team! Aside from TEDx, she is also the president of Voices for Planned Parenthood, the founder of Her Campus at Geneseo, and the first lady of the Pride Alliance. Her passions include feminism, reading, advocating for social justice, and crafting. In the future, Victoria aspires to change lives through education and ‘ideas worth spreading’!
Molly Brady: Co-Director of Production & Logistics
Molly is a junior Neuroscience major with minors in Psychology and the Edgar Fellows Program. She has been involved with TEDx since her freshman year. Beyond TEDx, she is a member of Golden Key Honor Society, Phi Delta Epsilon Professional Medical Fraternity, and yoga club. You can find her around campus, coffee in hand, either in the library, conducting research, or looking for dogs to pet. She strongly believes in the spread of innovative and inspiring ideas through the platform TEDx provides.
Adrienne Porter: Co-Director of Production & Logistics
Adrienne Porter is a freshman majoring in International Relations and English. This is her first year with the TEDx team, but she has enjoyed listening to and learning from TEDx talks for years.
Troy Hallahan: Co-Director of Public Relations, Marketing, & Communication
Troy is a senior Communication major. He is passionate about learning new ideas and educating others with new ideas. Aside from TEDx, he is also involved in Colleges Against Cancer, The Lamron, and is a Tour Guide. Outside of co-curricular activities, he an avid coffee drinker, adventure enthusiast, and portrait photographer. This is his second year with TEDxSUNYGeneseo and looks forward to sharing a different perspective with the community!
Madeline Dunn: Co-Director of Public Relations, Marketing, & Communication
Madeline Dunn is a sophomore Psychology major with a minor in English. In her free time she enjoys singing, drawing, reading, and above all a good cup of tea. She also works avidly in a close-knit psychology research lab on campus which focuses on how youth and emerging adults develop in contexts of intergroup contact and divide. This is her first year working with the TEDx team, and she is excited to help spread ideas which can cultivate academic thought and spark innovation.
Celeste Lim: Co-Director of Technology
Celeste is a senior Biochemistry major on a pre-med track. She spends her free time running a food Instagram blog with her friends and her dwarf hamster’s Instagram. She is an active member of SUNY Geneseo’s Health Guards, who are student health educators associated with the wellness center on campus. Celeste is also part of Student Association Tech Services to learn more about stage management and to support other clubs and organizations on campus. She has been a part of TEDxSUNYGeneseo for the past four semesters and hopes to continue to hear others’ experiences and wisdom from a diverse group of intellects.
Brenden Navarro: Co-Director of Technology
Brenden is a junior Communication major. He spends his free time cooking, lifting weights, and cleaning. Alongside TEDx, Brenden is an Assistant Resident Director (ARD) for the Department of Student Life at SUNY Geneseo. As an ARD, Brenden helps to manage a staff of Resident Assistants within a residence hall to build a positive community for Geneseo students residing on-campus. Brenden also acts as Media President for the Intervarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF). This marks Brenden's first year on TEDxSUNYGeneseo.
Emma Schneider: Co-Curator
Emma is a senior Biology major with a minor in Environmental Studies. Emma is returning for her third year as a curator on the TEDx team and is excited for all the new ideas that will be discovered. She is an avid dog lover, coffee shop explorer and loves spending time in nature, especially hiking high peaks. Emma loves the platform that TEDx provides which allows anyone to share the valuable information they have inside themselves in order to advance knowledge to all corners of the earth.
Hannah McSorley: Co-Curator
Hannah is a senior English Literature major, a lover of ideas, learning and language, and she aspires to be a writer in the future. This is her first year working with the TEDx SUNY Geneseo team, and is ecstatic she gets to work with such an ambitious group of her peers. When she is not studying she can be found working on short stories and the bits and pieces of what will hopefully become a novel. She feels strongly about the power of words to encourage others, and to shape ideas, thoughts, and therefore lives.
Julia McGaugh: Co-Curator
Julia is a sophomore Communication major in the College Honors Program. Apart from TEDx, she is an RA in Wayne Hall, a member of Chamber Singers, an oboist in the Geneseo Symphony Orchestra, and a member of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. This is her second year on the curation team, and she is thrilled to be able to engage fellow students with ‘Ideas Worth Spreading’!
Grace McMahon: Co-Curator
Grace is an active member of FRIENDS: The National Association of Young People Who Stutter. With this organization, she has traveled to different areas of the United States to participate in workshops and educational programs for the past 10 years. In recent years, she has run workshops of her own and has participated in numerous panels, as well as been a special guest on two podcasts: StutterTalk and Women Who Stutter: Our Stories.
Madeleine Metcalf: Co-Curator
Madeleine Metcalf is a junior Business Administration major looking to open a business of her own. This is Madeleine’s first year on the TEDx curation team. After traveling abroad to poverty stricken areas, she developed a passion for spreading ideas and perspectives to communities close to her who often overlook them. Aside from TEDx, Madeleine is involved with the Community Health Alliance, which promotes mental and physical health on campus. She strongly believes in the power of positivity and that you have to be the change you want to see in the world. Madeleine is very excited to be a part of TEDxSUNYGeneseo and can’t wait to see this years event unfold.
Jess Kaplan:Co-Curator
Jessica Kaplan is a sophomore History major while pursuing a double minor in Psychology and Sociology. This is her first year as a TEDx co-curator. Outside of TEDx, Jessica has been involved with the Women’s Leadership Institute and is currently training to be a Peer Pathways advocate. Jessica is excited to be apart of the TEDx team and help share ‘ideas worth spreading!’
