Degrees and Programs

The Mathematics Department offers strong Bachelor's degrees in mathematics. We offer several distinct tracks of study, including pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and computer programming.  Students with goals ranging from graduate work, to actuarial science, to secondary education will find courses, research opportunities and educational experiences that lead to academic and career success. In addition to the Bachelor's degrees, the Mathematics Department offers a minor, programs leading to both elementary and secondary teacher certification, and actuarial science training.

The Mathematics Department focuses on its students. We encourage and support student research, independent study, participation in REU's and in undergraduate and professional conferences, internships, and participation in external competitions such as the Putnam Exam.

The Department and the College are well equipped with current technology and encourage its use in all programs.
