Sibling Peer Research Group
Research Interests
- Sibling and friend relationships from early childhood through early adulthood (longitudinal study).
- Sibling relationships among various cultural groups (currently Latinx, Caribbean-American, Chinese-American, and African immigrants, but I'm open to other possibilities).
Student Involvement
- Research assistants may perform the following tasks:
- Contacting participants for follow-up studies
- Interviewing participants and transcribing interviews
- Coding transcripts and videotapes
- Entering, tabulating, and analyzing data on the computer
- Writing up results for presentation at GREAT Day and national/international conferences
Recruitment Opportunities
- Dr. DeHart is currently accepting 4-6 students for Spring 2025 and Fall 2025.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- First-year, sophomore, or junior standing.
- Students with a strong academic record, experience working with children and/or adolescents, and experience working as part of a group or team are encouraged to apply.
- Completion of PSYC 215 or 216 preferred.
Additional Comments
- Dr. DeHart does not usually admit seniors to her research group due to the semester-long training required to collect and code data.
